Welcome to the NCP UK Alliance, the United Kingdom chapter supporting the National Citizen Party (Jatiya Nagorik Party) movement. We stand with Bangladeshis at home and abroad who are building a democratic, accountable, and inclusive future—free from corruption and discrimination.
Who We Are
- The National Citizen Party (Jatiya Nagorik Party) is a political party in Bangladesh formed by the Jatiya Nagorik Committee and students involved in the July Revolution.
- Led by Nahid Islam—who rose to prominence during the 2024 student protests—the party emerged in February 2025 following the ousting of fascist Sheikh Hasina.
- The NCP aims to create a centrist alternative to the traditional two-party system and to curb corruption and discrimination across public life.
As the UK Alliance, we connect the Bangladeshi diaspora, supporters, and friends in the UK with the NCP’s mission, helping mobilize ideas, resources, and advocacy.

Our Foundations
- Formation: Founded on 28 February 2025 by the Jatiya Nagorik Committee and Students Against Discrimination.
- Leadership: Led by Nahid Islam.
- Origin: Rooted in the student movement that accelerated during the 2024 protests and the “July Revolution,” which led to the ousting of Sheikh Hasina.
- Political Stance: A genuinely centrist platform open to all—welcoming members from other parties, except those associated with the Awami League.
